Hitting the bed rock

SINGER JOHN MOLINA,36, CAN BE FOUND BELTING OUT ROCK NUMBERS AT ROUGE AT PERANAKAN PLACE EVERY NIGHT. HE TELLS JUITH TAN THAT HIS SECRET TO YOUTH IS SUPPLEMENTS, WATER AND PURE GREAT RAW INTENSE SEX.

You are rocker and lead singer of the rock band Kreuger. Yet, you say you are soft-spoken, sensitive and very shy. Are all rockers like that in real life?
I guess this is one question that only people very close to me can answer. I can't say much for other rockers, but I do know that music is an intangible craft and therefore takes some level of sensitivity for deliverance. As for being shy...I've always been shy.

Then why the bad boy image?
I guess the bad boy image stems from my younger days when I was a little reckless, rebellious, non-conformist and took an anti-establishment stance. It must have followed me on stage. Ha!

You keep late nights and doctors often say that people who keep latenights age faster. So what is your secret to the fountain of youth?
Multi-vitamins, water and pure great raw intense sex! Ha!

Your voice must be precious to you. How do you keep it in good conditions?
Water and honey.

Is keeping fit a pleasure or pain?
Of course it's pleasure. When you're fit and healthy, your mental well being is in positive effect too.

How do you kickstart your day?
Fresh fruit juice —- never fails to perk me up.

What beverage is a must and why?
Water, because I keep late nights and drink alcohol, so water is compulsory as it hydrates and washes the toxins out of my body.

I've also read somewhere about some ancient Indian form of yoga where the participants drink something like three litres of water first thing when they wake up! It is a recorded fact that these people have no diseases and ailments after a period of this form of treatment. It apparently cured migraines, arthritis and high blood pressure. I firmly believe that since water is source of life, it will also be a remedy of aliments.

Any vices?
My work and lifestyle is a vice! Sheesh.

What about injuries or health hitches?
Most of my injuries are sports related. I play football matches every Sunday and when a bunch of grown men get together for football, we automatically become six-year-olds and quickly forget our ages.

You were a duck farmer befopre. Miss the outdoors?

Of course! A big part of my growing years was spent in Pulau Ubin and it truly was the time of my life.

I did take four sabbaticals off my singing career though. One was to backpack around South-east asis. The second one was to set up a scuba diving school/shop and thus dived all over the world!

Third one was to ride with my late dad's riding group and we frequently went on trips to Malaysis and Thialand — right up to the Golden Triangle. It was our dream to ride to Vietnam and cross over to China.

My father was an amazing man and I'm thinking of doing this trip in his memory.

The fouth was to run a food business in Phuket for two years. So I was never really far away from the outdoors.

Lian cha or GP?
Lian cha. I'm a frim believer in alternative medicine.

How do you unwind after a long hard night?
Thank God for the national Geographic and Discovery channels.

What is your greatest fear?
Heights.

If you could change one part of your life what would that be?
To have spent more time with my dad before he passed away...

What can't you live without?
God.

I love being me because...
I am of mixed Filipino/Chinese parentage and therefore represent what is uniquely Singaporean.
