John Molina & Krueger @ Rouge

This band's been around the scene for the longest time, and have built a huge fan base for themselves while they're at it. But resting on laurels is not in their playlist, so they've found themselves a new home at Rouge, where they play the best live music on the island. If our assessment is not enough to convince you, the full-house turnout to their gigs should be.

Local rocker, John Molina, is pretty much a household name for music fans in Singapore. Having found a new home recently at Rouge, John and his band, Krueger, have settled in quick and gathered a huge fan base in no time at all. JUICE grabbed a couple of moments of his time and threw down some simple Q's...

Besides rock, what do you normally listen to?

A lot of chill out music. Like Café del Mar and Massive attack.

How do you like playing at Rouge?

It's the beat club that I've played in so far!

Do you prefer performing with Krueger or doing things alone?

Definately with Krueger. I'm not a soloist; I feel naked without my band. And I've always been a team player.

How do you feel your musical style has changed over the past 10 years?

It's changed quite drastically , I started out doing 70s rock covers but I've moved on and now do almost everything except boy band s**t and r&b.

Where do you find inspiration for your music?

Our fans - the people who believe in the band.

What do you do when you're not performing?

Football, football and football. And biking.

What are your plans for the future?

I'd love to go into management. Like artist management - moulding, shaping and guiding them. It's something I'd love to do for the local scene. I think there's a lot of talent out there but no one to guide them.
