Playmates: Frontman John Molina and four other bandmates

Chord in the act: Formed in 1993 by Molina, Krueger started out at Where Else bar at Cairnhill. It became known for its covers of rock hits and his sex appeal.

In 1994, the band played at various Europa clubs for three years before moving on to the now-defunct Sparks Disco at Ngee Ann City in 1997.

The quintet took a break the following year when Molina opened a dive shop in Siglap, which closed a year later. He moved to Phuket in Thailand, where he ran a stall selling satay.

In 2000, they returned to Red Cafe at Orchard Parade Hotel. After stints at Metz bar and China Bar, they moved to Rouge in September.

Hear, hear: Expect to enjoy hits from contemporary bands such as Radiohead, Green Day and Coldplay as well as classics from U2 and Pink Floyd.

Rock steady: John Molina & Krueger perform at Rouge from Mondays to Saturdays from 10.30pm.
Mon & Tues: No cover charge, Wed: $15 for men, Thurs: $15 for all, Fri & Sat: $18 for women and $20 for men. All charges include one drink. Rouge is closed on Sundays.
